P&G, the Polish Olympic Foundation and the Biedronka chain of stores are joining forces to support the training of future generations of athletes.

A joint campaign of Procter & Gamble, the Polish Olympic Foundation and the Biedronka chain of stores will start on May 19. The project will support the activities of primary schools to promote sports among young people. The common idea of all partners is to create the right habits in the field of physical activity in children from an early age.

In just two years, the Paris 2024 XXXIII Olympic Games will begin. As always, they will have the opportunity to watch the struggle of athletes at the highest world level. However, they remind us that Olympic ideas such as friendship, the pursuit of perfection, respect and fair play are universal values that are worth being brothers from an early age.

One of the most important elements of a healthy lifestyle is physical activity, which has a positive impact on the well-being and development of adults and children. The main goal of the Polish Olympic Foundation is to promote sports and Olympic subjects among children and adolescents. Schools play an extremely important role in this regard – especially in modern times, when sports and movement are highly competitive, for example. in the virtual world. By offering attractive sports activities and supporting young athletes, schools have a chance to instill a love of physical activity in children. Supporting the projects they can implement gives many students a chance to reach out and make a real impact.

Sport plays an important role in the development of children and adolescents. It has a positive effect on their physical and mental development. It helps you believe in your own strengths, overcome weaknesses, and shape your character. Teaches you to win and lose. Unfortunately, – in many cases – the lack of appropriate tools in the form of sports equipment or the support of coaches hinders the development of sports tendencies in children and adolescents. I believe that the program we are implementing together will help to develop highly talented athletes and educate children and youth in accordance with Olympic values. I would like to thank P&G and Biedronka for their understanding of the role of sports in education and in fulfilling the mission of education and sports.“- said Andrzej Kraśiicki, President of the Polish Olympic Committee and the Polish Olympic Foundation.

A joint project of Procter & Gamble, a Biedronka chain of stores operating in partnership with the Polish Olympic Foundation, is part of the Medal Day strategy. It encourages schools to take initiatives that promote sports and encourage more students to be physically active. P&G is a long-term partner of the Olympic movement. As part of the partnership, the company, among others, launched the “Thank you, mother” campaign, which focuses on the people behind the success of athletes – their mothers, as well as supporting healthy and competitive sports. disabled children.

At Procter & Gamble, we believe that the development of healthy habits in children begins at an early age. Schools can play a special role in this issue. That is why we participate in projects involving schools to create joint conditions for children and young people to get to know and love sports. We have been promoting the idea of sports and fair play for many years together with our partner, the International Olympic Committee. We were also part of the Polish Olympic Hopes program, which supports the development of competitive sports among children with disabilities. Only by joining forces can we create a world of equal opportunities for future generations. – Małgorzata Mejer, P&G’s Director of Corporate Communications for Central Europe, comments.

Anyone who chooses P&G products in the Biedronka chain of stores during the campaign can support young athletes. The campaign covers Always, Naturella, Oral-B, Blend-a-Med, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, Old Spice, Gillette, Ariel, Lenor, Vizir, Pampers, Discreet and Fairy brands. Proceeds from the sale will be transferred to the Polish Olympic Fund for the implementation of sports projects provided by primary schools.

How can schools get funding for sports projects?

All Polish primary schools can join the campaign. The whole Medal Day project is divided into two stages. From May 19 to June 16, schools can submit projects they want to fund. They should be more involved in activities that can develop a child’s sports passion. To apply for the program, just fill out the application form available at http://dzienanamedal.pl and describe the idea that will promote physical activity among students. The second stage – voting for the best project – will last from July 7 to August 4. Anyone can accept it. As a result of the voting, 33 rural and municipal schools representing all voivodships can receive grants of up to 60,000 PLN. The winners will be announced by August 14, 2022.

The Biedronka Network is actively involved in initiatives to promote a healthy lifestyle. We believe that by promoting nutrition education and physical activity, we can build a better future for the youngest children. For years, we have been working in the field of nutrition education and supporting sports – both at the amateur level. This project is a natural step for us to form a pro-health attitude from an early age“- says Carolina Błońska, Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Biedronka Network.

Active sports activities not only contribute to the physical development of young athletes. It also helps build self-confidence, strengthens your decisions, and empowers you to deal with daily challenges. It is also important that young people learn as soon as possible about the values of the Olympic movement and the rules of fair play. The organizers of the “Dzień na medal” campaign, jointly implemented by P&G, the Polish Olympic Committee and the Biedronka chain of stores, hope that this will allow more primary schools to realize their sports ideas and ambitions.
