TP-Link Deco X50 are small, neat rolls
TP-Link Deco X50 routers look the same. These are small cylinders with a diameter of 11 cm. They are white, so they should fit perfectly into any environment and will not stand out due to their small size. At first you may think that this is an air freshener or some other luxurious decoration.
The housings are made of hard, durable plastic. The upper part is dull, except for a small bright wrinkle. It has strong, rubber feet below.
The notification LED is at the bottom, under the Deco logo. The emitted light spreads effectively under it, but if it irritates us at night, we can turn it off from the level of the mobile application, for example, at certain times.
On the back panel we find three gigabit LAN ports and an electrical outlet. The reset button is hidden in the database. We also have stickers with standard passwords.
You can add the lack of USB ports that are common on routers, but here I always ask the question – when and why did you last use the USB port on the router?

Unobstructed installation within the program
To connect and configure TP-Link Deco X50 routers, we need a smartphone with the TP-Link Deco application. Configuration is not possible without it. This may be a disadvantage, but on the other hand, the program directs the process to us in such a simple way that even a person who sees the router for the first time can cope with it.
In fact, it took me more time to unpack the box and unplug the cables than to configure the router itself. The app itself recognized the type of network, made the connection, and all I had to do was name the new Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
After a minute, the router was ready to work and spread the Internet throughout the apartment. It is easier to connect to the second router. Just plug it in and wait for the LED to turn green. And it did not take more than a minute.
Overall, the application is well prepared. Beautiful graphics and easy to use. One of the most useful features here is the ability to create a guest network and parental controls. Thanks to this, we got an overview of how much time household members spend on the Internet and what they look on the Internet. This feature is especially useful when we have young children. The application can also display all the information in the form of weekly reports.
The downside is the incredible pop-up premium features, including. HomeShield paid protection. They can be closed, but at first they appear very often.

Internet speed worth the money
Let’s go to practical tests. The apartment with an area of less than 60 m2 has the following plan:
The UPC router / modem is in the red dot. The daily internet speed of 600/60 Mb / s looks like this:
The first TP-Link Deco X50 router is located at the red dot, and the second in room number 4. Here are the measurement results (the average for five measurements in the Pro Speedtest program on the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2021). )::
The results obtained are practically exemplary. Routers cover the entire apartment with Wi-Fi, and basically we have full-speed Internet access where I’m not.
And what does the network look like under load? I ran Netflix on my TV, YouTube on my computer, updated some games on the Xbox, turned on the vacuum cleaner and Tidal on my phone. Speed test measurements decreased by 25-35%, which is a very good result.

High-speed internet in every corner of the apartment with TP-Link Deco X50
This is an idea that can be summed up in the TP-Link Deco X50 test. To be honest, I didn’t expect two routers to provide such Internet performance in my apartment (and balcony). Typically, the speed difference in individual rooms with two mesh routers is a few dozen megabits per second. In this situation, it was almost minimal.
On the plus side, you should also include beautiful design, easy installation and configuration, and convenient business management from the mobile application level. On the flip side, we only have routers that don’t have a USB port, and you can also complain about excessive interference with paid features in the mobile app. In addition, the TP-Link Deco X50 is undoubtedly a device worth the price, which pays for very good performance.
