In the case of home internet, the average data download speed is 19.4% (from 64.9 Mb / s to 77.5 Mb / s), and mobile internet is 25.2% (from 28.6 Mb / s to 35.8 Mb). / s) increased. The average download speed on 5G networks is two to five times higher than the results of all mobile technologies.

The rating for the first half of 2021 is based on 23.5 million measurements (including 5.5 million mobile applications). This information applies to users from Poland.

INEA ranks first in the ranking of home Internet providers

For the first half of 2021, the average data download speed for all home Internet providers is 77.5 Mb / s. This is about the result 19.4% higher Compared to the second half of 2020.

INEA’s customers (~ 158 Mb / s) have achieved the highest data download speeds in the home Internet rating. The 150 Mb / s level was also exceeded by UPC customers, which puts it first among national operators. T-Mobile and Vectra (~ 130 Mb / s) followed with more than 140 Mb / s. The table below provides a comparison of results for leading home internet providers. The largest acceleration of data download speeds was recorded by Vectra.

Netia with the fastest fiber-optic Internet (FTTH)

The half-year FTTH rating is based on more than 2.4 million measurements, which is 17.2% of the results of all fixed lines in Poland. In the first half of 2021, the average speed of fiber-optic lines was 171.5 Mb / s, which is an increase of 10.4% compared to the previous period (ie the second half of 2020).

Represented in the context of the number of tests, the FTTH fiber-optic rating includes operators in the home Internet rating across Poland. It is led by Netia with results of more than 180 Mb / s. The second and third places are occupied by Orange and INEA, the results of these operators are slightly lower. T-Mobile (~ 145 Mb / s) was left off the podium.

It is the fastest in 5G Plus

In 2020, all Polish mobile operators launched fifth-generation networks. In addition, it used the TDD technique in 5G (ang. Time Section Duplex) with a special 2600 MHz band. The remaining operators have launched new generation networks in DSS equipment ( Dynamic Spectrum Sharing) In the 2100 MHz frequency range, which is dynamically shared with LTE.

Interestingly, we have prepared the results of operators based on tests of users of the platform SpeedTest.pl within the 5G network in the first half of 2021. Highest average data download speed with the highest share of numbers. The number of tests was obtained by Plus. Comparing the 5G results with the average of all mobile technologies for a given operator, Plus achieved about five times, while other operators achieved about twice as much. The reason for the significant advantage of Plus is that TDD offers 5G services in the 2600 MHz band.

The share of 5G technology tests in Poland is still small, at the end of the last six months it was 1.5%.

Samsung smartphones with the largest share of 5G tests

A year ago, smartphone manufacturers were developing two versions of the same device, namely 4G LTE and 5G modem. The new generation of integrated circuits has changed that. Almost every new smartphone on the market now supports 5G. However, this does not mean that it will work on every operator’s 5G network, but this may soon change.

The most popular 5G smartphone in terms of number of tests is the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, the cheapest model among the devices in the Galaxy S20 series. The next most popular are Samsung’s flagships from the Galaxy S21 series.

As for terminal suppliers, Samsung smartphones had the largest share (more than 45%) in tests conducted by users of the SpeedTest.pl platform in the first half of 2021 in Poland within the 5G technology range. The second is Xiaomi. (More than 15%), followed by Apple (about 15%).
